Hiking
Nestled in the Berkshires, Williamstown and North Adams provide access to spectacular hiking at varying levels of difficulty.
Click here for a list of select trails in the area. We particularly like the Mt. Greylock Summit trail, which merges with the Appalachian Trail and offers beautiful views from the highest point in the Berkshires.
Downtown Williamstown
Wander the Williams College campus and check out the shops on Spring Street. Stop by Tunnel City Coffee for coffee and baked goods, Hot Tomatoes for pizza, and the Purple Pub for drinks.
Art
Our wedding venue, MASS MoCA, is a contemporary art museum located in a converted factory building complex that hosts visual and performing art exhibits from around the world. Parts of the museum will be open for exploration during our cocktail hour, but we encourage you to visit the rest of the museum at your leisure over the weekend. Afterwards, enjoy a beer at Bright Ideas Brewing, located in the MASS MoCA complex.
The Clark Art Institute in Williamstown houses a premiere collection of European and American paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, photographs, and decorative arts from the Renaissance to the early twentieth century. The Clark is located on 140 acres of expansive lawns and easy walking trails, which are open to the public and lead to stunning views of Williamstown and Vermont's Green Mountains. Walking trail map can be located here.
If you're up for a (scenic) drive, the Norman Rockwell Museum is located about an hour away from Williamstown and North Adams. The Museum houses the world’s largest and most significant collection of Rockwell’s work, including 998 original paintings and drawings. It's situated on 36 acres of gardens and fields, which showcase sculptures created by Norman's son, Peter, and offers beautiful views of the Housatonic River and Berkshire greenery.
